You will never do anything in this world without courage. It is the greatest quality of the mind next to honor. --Aristotle

Hunt's Corner

Kuddos to ALL involved with STAAR! I am very proud of our 100% perfect attendance in 4th grade. Active monitoring and attention to procedures and details resulted in a smooth and successful testing day. Thank you Elizabeth, Holly, Lisa, Liz, Yodit, Sandy, Liz, Julie, Julie, Christopher, Christine, Tammy, Yolanda, German, Aziz, Sherry, Ben, Tenia, Carol, Kelley, Grant, and the many hands working together. Thank you to the rest of you for leading the 500+ non-testers to be respectful and supportive of our 4th grade, from the inspiring parade Monday to tiptoe-filled hallways on Tuesdays. It takes a Team, and that is exactly what we are. You are the BEST!

Items to Note

Here are some of the responses from last week's survey. Thank you for taking the time to respond!
  1. What would you see students doing? --Loving what they are learning, immersed in the lesson, on-task, working together...
  2. What would you see yourself doing? --Laughing with the kids, while helping them, helping them push for more, working with at-risk students on areas of weakness, facilitating, redirecting, clarifying, extending, listening to their discussion, immediate intervention, engaging all of the students...
  3. What would you look for to know that authentic learning is occurring? --transfer, connections to the real world, the children are so consumed they are not paying attention to anything else, conversations at a higher level, helping each other
  4. What would you hear? -- I would hear students teaching each other information they just learned, questions about a deeper part of their project, and excitement in their voices when they make a connection, quiet enthusiasm

  • Staff Meeting this week: Thank you for your dedication to our students. You give of yourself every day to be the best for our young Stars. Let us give some of that time back--no meeting this week (4/4)!
  • Katie, thank you for sending your students to lead us in Announcements last week. We're looking forward to hearing from Sherry's class!
