St. Sebastian
Patron saint of athletes, archers, and soldiers.
About Him
St. Sebastian was an early christian saint and martyr. His feast day is January 20th. Her died in the year of 268 B.C. because he was beaten to death. He was a soldier in the Roman army at Rome in about 283 B.C. He was shot with arrows and left to die but St. Castulus recovered his body and she nursed him back to good health. He went back to the emperor and told him that he hated christians and then the emperor soon ordered for him to be beaten to death. He is patron saint of athletes, archers, and soldiers. He is also appealed to to protect people from plagues. He is patron saint of athletes because of his endurance and energetic way of spreading and defending the faith of Jesus Christ. He is patron saint of soldiers because he was a soldier in the roman army. He is patron saint of archers because he was shot by archers.
Why I Chose This Saint/ How He Can Be A Role Model
I chose this saint because I am an athlete so I wanted to do the patron saint of athletes. He can be a good role model for me because he was martyr which means he died for his faith. He was also very nice and athletic.
