5th grade band students sounded great!
So much going on at Ludwig!!
It is hard to believe that we are well into the 3rd quarter! Thank you for your continued partnership in educating your children! Please encourage your students to continue to do their best each and every day! Reading at home daily is crucial to improve your child’s reading ability.
Our 5th-grade G.R.E.A.T. graduation will be held on Friday, February 16 at 8:30 am. We look forward to seeing our 5th-grade families at the ceremony! A special thank you to Lockport Officers, Jeren Szmergalski and Adam Schriener who have been our G.R.E.A.T. instructors. They have been teaching our students skills and strategies to make good choices and manage anger and frustration. We appreciate the time and dedication they have put in this year!
The 5th-grade students recently had a visit from the Robert Crown Center to learn about their bodies and puberty. The 4th graders had the opportunity to spend a day at the Bulls-Sox Academy, where they were able to workout and learn more about the importance of exercise and nutrition.
As we enter the month of February, we will celebrate our 100th day of school by holding a food drive. We are asking for non-perishable food donations that we will donate to the Lockport Food Pantry. We are hoping to collect 100 items from each homeroom! Our mentors, under the direction of Ms. Grahovec, will organize this project for Ludwig. Please help us reach our goal! Items may be brought in from February 5 until February 9.
Ludwig will have a special assembly on February 14 featuring Stacey Glorioso, author of "Joshua's Dragon." Thank you to the wonderful D92 PFA for funding this special event for us!
We are excited to host our second annual Family Literacy Night on February 15. An invitation was sent home describing this fun-filled reading night! Our theme is Medevil Times. There will be many sessions to choose from which focus on reading fluency, comprehension, word work, technology, and writing. Please RSVP as soon as possible so we can plan accordingly!
Don't forget District 92's PFA is hosting a Candlelight Bowl on February 17th! Please join families and staff members from each of the schools for a night of dinner, bowling, and fun! Hope to see you there!
On March 1, we will be having our annual Variety Show at 6:30 pm. Our students will be sharing their special talents. We look forward to seeing you there! The entrance cost is $1.00 per person over the age of 5 years old. Ludwig students are free. All proceeds will benefit our music program at Ludwig. The doors will open at 6:00 pm.
