National Honor Society
The National Honors Society visited MIS and placed 2,996 American flags in the ground to commemorate each victim who died in the 9/11 attacks. The flags will be displayed all weekend during the Spirit of America Blood Drive.
Since its inception in 2002, the Spirit of America Blood Drive has collected more than 10,709 blood products, potentially helping to save more than 32,127 lives. In 2016 alone 510 units were collected. Those donations alone can potentially save 1,530 lives. (Each unit can be transfused to up to three people.)
