High Heat Adjustments, COVID Testing and the Last Day of School
Good afternoon,
I hope you are able to escape the heat today and enjoy your Sunday. Due to the high heat predicted in the coming days, the OUTDOOR mask mandate for students and staff will be lifted through Wednesday, June 9. We will ensure social distancing outside as best we can, and we encourage any students and staff who wish to wear masks outdoors to do so. Masks are to be worn indoors. Once the weather breaks after Wednesday, we will continue mask-wearing outdoors unless the temperatures rise above 90 degrees again.
All of our buildings are equipped with bottle filling stations. Please send your children in with water bottles that can be filled throughout the day. And clothing with pockets would be greatly appreciated for the stowing of masks while outdoors. We have plenty of masks if needed at school if a student misplaces a mask.
Please note that we will end COVID testing at the end of next week. There will be no testing on June 21 or June 22. Thank you for your support of this vital program to keep our students and staff safe. As for the need for testing next year, no decision has been made yet, as we await more developments with regard to vaccines for our younger students.
The last day of school this year is Tuesday, June 22, and the day will be a half-day for students.
Sincerely,
Dr. Galdston
