Normangee MS Family Newsletter
July 21, 2022
From Mr. Wingfield
Welcome to the 2022-23 school year. I am excited to be your new principal and look forward to serving the students, staff, and community of Normangee.
As someone who grew up in the Brazos Valley Area, I am very familiar with Normangee and the surrounding community. It has always been my goal to come back home and I feel extremely blessed to have my family land in Normangee ISD.
As a teacher, coach and administrator I have seen first hand the value of not only academics, but supporting students in all their endeavors. One of the driving forces for coming to Normangee is the belief in the whole child, meeting students where they are, and supporting them in whatever passions they have.
The best thing about a small town is the ability to become immersed in the culture, pride, and traditions that they have. My family is excited about becoming part of Panther Nation!
I will be sending this email out weekly in order to help keep all families up to date on upcoming events, to highlight our students, and provide other campus and district information.
I look forward to meeting as many students and families as I can in the coming weeks leading up to the start of school and throughout the year.
Please feel free to reach out to me anytime. I am here to help in any way I can.
Go Panthers!!

Jump Start Program
Classes for Jump Start begin next week on July 25th and run through August 4th from 8:00-12:00, Monday-Thursday on the Normangee MS campus.
The purpose of Jump Start is to review content that has been identified as a weak area for students. Teachers will provide targeted instruction to focus on needed areas for each student.
The hours completed during Jump Start will be counted towards the 30 intervention hours required by HB 4545 for students that failed the STAAR test.
Letters were mailed home a couple of weeks ago for any students that met the criteria for the Jump Start program. If you feel like you should have received a letter and did not, please contact us at 936-396-3111.
Any students that do not attend the next couple of weeks will still be required to make up the 30 hours during the school year.
