Teacher of the Year Nominations

WE HAVE A TIE!

Wow! We have a tie for the number of votes our top two nominees received for teacher of the year. Sheri Bruce and Maggie Pezzello have received the same number of votes. In this case, the district states that we must conduct a tie breaker vote. Please click here to make your selection. Voting will close on Monday evening.

Teacher Supply Fund Information

During the past year we received information from the Internal Revenue Service that Rock Hill Schools and teachers should be accounting for the state teacher supply funds in a different way or face fines from the federal government. To make the process easier for you, Rock Hill School District will be issuing Teacher Supply Cards (similar to debit cards) to eligible teachers. They will be issued at the school during the first week of school.

Because you will be issued a debit card instead of a check, it is important that you not spend personal funds during the summer in anticipation of a check. Once you are issued the card in August, it can be used in valid locations to purchase needed supplies for your classroom. The card can be used until December 31st in the year of issuance in most locations that sell items that would be needed in a classroom.

When you are issued the card in August, a form and instructions will be provided to you but if you have any questions before then, please call the office of Financial Services, 803.981.1013 or e-mail at ebilton@rhmail.org.

Summer Reading: Action Required

Classroom teachers, please send a list of your students who are reading below grade level and their current instructional reading level to Marco. (This is not their F and P level- just the level where you are currently instructing.) She has to have this in order to purchase books for our children reading below grade level. This should be done prior to May 1 to allow Marco time to prepare, order, receive and organize books for students in the red/yellow for summer reading!

Vote May 5

Please be sure to publicize May 5th’s referendum. We want to encourage our parents and teachers to vote. It would be helpful if you put this in all publications going home between now and May 5th.
