Common Questions
What is included? Each participant will receive a Silver Star Club Jersey to advertise our valued sponsors. The program includes coaching by a certified Club Freestyle Ski Coach and all participants get an SS Freestyle toque.
What does a J&B skier need to have? Skier MUST have their own ski pass, skis, poles, ski boots, helmet, goggles, gloves and be dressed for the weather conditions.
Do you ever cancel sessions? We try our best to run classes every week as scheduled. In the event the temperature is -20 (or colder) with windchill we may cancel a session. In these cases the SSFSC will strive to make up missed sessions later in the season. This may not be possible in all cases.
What if we are late? Coaches meet their groups at 8:45 AM in behind the guest services building. If you are late and the groups have left the village you can bring your child over to the top of the Air Bag site (next to the Magic Carpet). Usually a coach is available there until 9:15 AM to help your child join their group.
Feel free to email our Program Director, Wade Garrod, at wade@ssfreestyle.com if you have any questions regarding this program.

Team Bahamas snowboarding comes to town!
Meet our newest snowboard coach Kory Wright. Born in Nassau Bahamas Kory moved to Canada as a young kid and loved the deep snow of Winter off the start.
A Team Canada and Team Bahamas snowboard halfpipe athlete and FIS World Cup medalist, coach Kory was a career athlete who trained for 3 Olympic games. His first proper training started with the local snow board club in Calgary and a few seasons later won a FIS World Cup Bronze medal in his rookie year on the Tour.
Coach Kory claims his success came from hard work and his commitment to training. Kory also worked with TV and film productions as he traveled the World representing the Caribbean nation of the Bahamas and embraced the roll of ‘Ambassador of Snowboarding’ to many non-snow island nations, and kids around the World.
Now trained and certified by Canada Snowboard coaching, Coach Kory is bringing his competitive skills and style points to the Silver Star Freesyle Snowboard Riders Team!
Can’t wait to see him in the jib park! Look for the famous blue and yellow colors of his home Island in the Bahamas.
