NEWS FROM DR. CHAUSSEE
All students in Millard K-8 take the MAP test three times a year. Based on the fall, 2021 scores, the organization, NWEA, that manages MAP, uses the data for students in grades 2-10 to predict how students will do on state tests, specifically in Nebraska the NSCAS. The tables below show math and reading in order. NWEA states there is a strong indication the students in the On Track and CCR Benchmark will pass the state test. If accurate, 32.4% of our students will not pass the math test and 33.9% of our students will not pass the reading (ELA) portion of the NSCAS. Of course, we hope this is wrong and we always have a much greater percentage pass. We are working hard toward that goal. Each student in grades 2-5 has an individual MAP growth goal. Previous issues of the Gator Tales show the percentage of students who did meet their winter growth goal, both above 60% for math and reading.

LUNCH AT ABBOTT
Returning to Lunch…
Parents and guardians,
With Covid numbers dropping schools would appear to be safer and a gradual return to some of what we did prior to Covid such as parents eating lunch at school. Life is unpredictable as we’ve all learned the last two years with Covid so we don’t want to rush this. We will start gradually allowing visitors at lunch on March 14. Initially, only one parent will be allowed per student and only two parents per grade level lunch. The level of interest will dictate what we do after the first two weeks of this.
