Principal Update
Week of October 3rd
Thank you so much for what you do and how you do it! While we are at a good place, we want to continue to grow and strive for excellence.
As we continue to keep the family of Jacob Hall, elementary school student at Townville Elementary School in our thoughts. Let's continue to be diligent in our efforts to keep students and staff at Lesslie safe.
Please make sure that you are adhering to district policy ECA Security :
1. Classrooms doors should be shut and locked while class is being taught or when rooms are vacant.
2. Employees, visitors, vendors, volunteers, and high school students are visible wearing an identification badge at all times on campus.
3. All visitors, vendors, district employee(s) not assigned to the building, and volunteers are entered into the district's visitor management system by a school district employee.
4. The number of exterior doors that are unlocked during the day is minimized.
If you have questions about any of our safety policies, please let me know.
Staff Expectations
Please do not schedule field studies for days that we have school activities on the calendar.
The Enrichment Day on October 14th should be used to create quality common formative assessments for the upcoming 9 weeks. We will discuss common formative assessments and results at our next grade level professional development.
Our goal is to hold conferences with 100% of parents and guardians. If you are having difficulty contacting a parent, please let me know.
Reminder - The deadline for entering F and P instructional levels was Sept. 30th. Please make sure that your data sheet is current and up to date.
Running Record Proficiency Task
Thank you to every teacher for completing the task by September 30th. Using information gleamed from running records is a best practice that will improve student achievement. It is important to practice giving and analyzing running records on a regular basis.

Fall Festival - Saturday, October 8th from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Literacy Day - Wednesday, October 19th from 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. Kimenya will provide details at our Tuesday meeting.
SafeSchools Update
The following staff have completed 100% of the Safeschools training: Lunch will be provided on Friday for everyone who completed training by September 30th. Everyone who completes training by October 19th will have their names entered in a drawing for gifts.
