Kid President! How Do You Socktober?

Mrs. Perkins in 2nd grade is leading the charge on our Socktober Event

I hope you are enjoying the nice cooler autumn weather outside. Though we may be enjoying it, more than 600,000 people are homeless and are dreading the upcoming cold weather. What can you do to help? Join 2nd grade and all of the Rayland family in donating new socks throughout the month of October so that we may give them to a homeless shelter. We have a goal to collect 500 pairs of socks by the end of October. You can drop off socks at the front of the school in front of the post between the cafeteria and the MPR or in the 2nd grade neighborhood in front of room 1402 (Mrs. Perkins' room).

Want to know more? Watch Kid President's newest#Socktober video‚Äč to get more information. Let's show our kids that they CAN make a difference! Here at Rayland, we are AWESOME and our small donations can make a HUGE difference in someone's life.

P.S. Though socks are our main focus this month, we will also take donation of lip balm, blankets, and deodorant to help out our homeless population. Also, feel free to hand out socks to any homeless person you see around town. When you do, take a picture or video and send it todeanna.perkins@leanderisd.org so we can show how Rayland rocks #Socktober!
