Hybrid Learning Part 2 -
You have received a lot of information from the district this week. I hope you have a better understanding of the A/B schedule: last names starting with A-K will be our Monday/Tuesday (A) in-person learners and last names starting with L-Z will be our Thursday/Friday (B) in-person learners with Wednesday remaining remote for all students engaging in Art, Music, PE and other activities the teachers list for their students on their daily classroom schedules. This A/B schedule was created so we can maintain small groups of students in person for social distancing. All students 1st thru 8th must adhere to this schedule so families with multiple siblings attend school the same days. We cannot make exceptions because we must keep our groups small enough to social distance with our 3,100 students across the district.
Please look carefully at our Park View arrival/dismissal document and our map of where students will enter and exit the building when they are on campus. If you have questions about this you can contact your teacher or the office for clarification. Please note that students should not arrive before 8:25 am as our playground is closed during school hours. Once they arrive they will go directly to their entrance and stand on their number the teacher has assigned to them. If it is raining or inclement weather it is VERY IMPORTANT to arrive no earlier that 8:25 am as we cannot let our students in earlier than that time.
Procedures are being created to socially distance throughout the day within the building. Masks are required to be worn the whole day and are only removed for a 30 minute lunch and weather permitting when teachers can take students outside for a mask break. Please have your child(ren) start wearing masks for longer periods of time if they have not been doing so to help make this transition smooth.
I am hoping these little pieces of information begin to fill in what this hybrid learning will look like.
Important Tips to Prepare Your Student(s) for School -
- If your student wants to bring a water bottle to school please make sure it is filled up at home and brought to school full. Also, I strongly suggest a water bottle with a flip-straw top so students can easily drink from it without removing their mask. Our water fountains are closed.
- Each student needs two masks per day. One mask they are wearing from the time they enter school property and another clean mask in their backpack just in case it's needed.
- Students can bring a home lunch, or take a packaged lunch from our school lunch program. Arbor will continue posting lunch menus for each month on the district website.
- No snacking is allowed so please be sure your child eats a good breakfast. Lunch time at Park View for 1st, 2nd & 3rd Grades will be from 11:45 - 12:15 pm. Lunch time at Park View for 4th & 5th Grades will be from 10:55 - 11: 25 am. Students will eat at desks or tables socially distanced 6 feet from each other in the Gym and the lunch room.
- School issued chromebooks must be fully charged and brought to and from school daily. Students cannot bring a personal device to school.
- When we get closer to our in-person learning, teachers will let students know which supplies they need to bring back-and-forth from school to home in their backpacks along with their district issued chromebook.
