From the Principals...

Thank you to all our families who have signed up for parent-teacher conferences. Reminder that the last day to do so is Friday, November 4th. Link and information is listed below.

I also wanted to share that we have received our annual summative designation from ISBE and that is shared below along with areas we are continuing to target as a school. During our first year at CJHS, it is our job to determine our areas of strength as well as begin to understand our areas for growth. We have a wonderful Instructional Leadership Team and many committees led by staff members who are working hard to ensure we review all available data to achieve high academic excellence as well as support the social and emotional well-being of ALL our students.

Remember that we cannot do it alone and thank you for your support throughout the school year!!

Illinois Report Card - Summative Designation

We are happy to report that we have received an annual summative designation of Commendable as a school community!! We are proud to know that we continue to have not only proficiency but also demonstrate growth in the areas of English Language Arts, Math, and Science. CJHS believes that all students can learn and strives to provide a positive and challenging learning environment to ensure ALL our students realize their individual potential. Learning experiences are designed to meet students at their instructional level and provide additional support as needed to ensure success and challenge all students to reach high standards of achievement.

We also know that our students thrive in learning environments that are physically safe and emotionally secure. We foster a culture of respect and connectivity within our school and community and we believe that every child deserves the daily opportunity for a high-quality educational experience.

Each year, our school disaggregates and analyzes student achievement data to set SMART Goals for the current year and review progress on past goals. This year, our school will focus on completing the goals set last year which include students improving their mathematical modeling practices specifically how to apply multiple forms of representation and make choices on which one best helps them solve problems. We are also focusing on student relationships with staff to ensure that ALL students have a sense of belonging and voice within our school community. We also continue our focus on ways to address systemic and individual inequities and promote more equitable practices within our schools especially for those students and groups identified through report card data.

Below you can read through the indicators used by ISBE to evaluate student success at CJHS. Please take a moment to review and we thank you for your continued partnership to ensure the academic, social, and emotional well being of ALL our students!

Help support our CJHS PTO Unraiser!!

Thank you to all our families who have donated to our PTO Unraiser! We still need your help!!

Each year, the Chiddix PTO asks all families for a financial contribution to help our PTO. 100% of the money raised will be used at Chiddix for students and teachers. A suggested donation of $25 per family will provide extra support for CJHS students and staff.

The “unraiser” provides another option for parents and guardians to financially support the CJHS PTO since this is our one and only school fundraiser!! In previous years, your contribution has helped to provide funding for additional classroom materials such as document cameras for the Math Department, Digital Projector for the IMC, laminating materials for the office, and teacher appreciation days just to name a few.

Please complete the form below or contribute online via PayPal:
