New Digital Library

Oster Elementary School is committed to bringing innovative learning opportunities to our students and we are pleased to introduce our new digital library, Sora, the student reading app, powered by Overdrive.

Why use Sora?

This collection is a digital extension of the Oster Elementary School library, now with 24/7 access to ebooks and audiobooks. It’s easy for students to check out titles at home, on the weekends, or during school breaks with no worry about misplacing a book– these digital titles automatically return at the end of the lending period!

With our new digital library, students of all ages will have access to more reading opportunities.

How does it work?

To use Sora, students can browse through the free Sora app, borrow with their authentication requirements (Google ID without @unionsd.org and password), and enjoy reading anytime, anywhere on a computer, tablet, smartphone, or eReader.

Where can I find more information?

Oster Lost and Found

If your child is missing a sweater, jacket, or sweatshirt, please drop by the lost and found located in front of the cafeteria. We have an overabundance of outerwear that needs to be claimed. You are welcome to drop by anytime during the school day. Parents do a much better job of identifying clothing than our students. After December 19th, they will be donated to charities.

Happy Holidays from the Oster Staff

The Oster staff can honestly say that we have one of the warmest, kindest, supportive, diverse, inclusive community of families. Not all campuses have parents volunteering to read books that promote positive character traits, parents demonstrating artwork from different eras and artists, parents sharing their cultural practices through literature and visual representations, parents donating endless hours to put on special events like our Welcome Back Picnic, Harvest Festival, and STEAM Night, parents taking time during the day to help in the classrooms to prep projects for our teachers, or parents who write grants so that we may have a beautiful kindergarten garden to share with the entire school. The Oster staff is very thankful and appreciative of each and every one of our parents who donates their time, talents, and love to our school, staff, and most importantly our children. We thank you and hope you have a safe, peaceful, joy-filled Holiday Season!
