PRINCIPAL NEWS
Welcome Back!! Hopefully our Bobcat Families enjoyed spring break!! Now it is time to focus on finishing the year strong! There is just about 10 weeks left in this crazy school year. Whether your student is in-person, remote, or hybrid, it is super important that they are engaged in class every day!
Please remember that Wednesdays are school days! Just because students aren't 'in class', does not mean that we don't take attendance and there isn't work to be done. Be sure to have your child login through their Canvas account to find out what work their teacher has posted for that day before going to the other learning platforms.
Please remember to contact the main office if your child is staying home or will not be online because of illness or any other reason.
We will continue to reach out with auto-dialers as new information becomes available. Please listen to your voicemails and check your emails regularly.

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION BEGINS FOR 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR
Online registration for new students enrolling in the 2021-22 school year has begun. We will be registering only new kindergarten through 5th grade students who live within our attendance boundaries, or have daycare in our area. Current students are automatically enrolled for next year, with the exception of overload students who will return to their home schools for the 2021-22. Please find the link below to the enrollment area on our district website. To be eligible for kindergarten, children must be five years of age by August 31, 2021. Enrollees must download a copy of their child’s birth certificate, immunization records, and proof of residency so please have them ready before starting the process. If you have any questions on the registration process, please call 253-298-3100.
DUAL LANGUAGE PROGRAM
During the 2021-2022 school year, Franklin Pierce School District will be offering a Spanish Dual Language Immersion program at Harvard Elementary. This learning option is committed to student growth towards bilingualism and literacy from kindergarten through fifth grade with the ultimate goal being Spanish and English language proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking within all academic content areas. NEWS FROM THE HEALTHROOM
Allergy Season is here!! Seasonal allergy symptoms look like Covid-19 symptoms. If your child has these symptoms at school, we must send them home.
What you can do to ensure this doesn't happen frequently:
- If your child has allergies, make sure your student gets their allergy meds at home before school EVERYDAY. There are many over the counter allergy medications that are 24 hours. These are best given at bedtime, so that they wake up symptom free. Always ask your pediatrician which medications are best for your child's age group.
- Get a note from your doctor stating this student does have seasonal allergies AND listing what those symptoms are. If we have this on file there is less chance we will have to send them home. *Please note this will not guarantee that they will not be sent home as the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.
