Kindergarten Newsletter

April 11, 2016

This Week

This week we are adding ladybug larva to our insect collection. We will be studying the life cycle of the ladybug by observing the insects and reading about ladybugs. In math we will continue to work on addition, subtraction and telling time. We will read the classic "The Very Grouchy Ladybug" to review telling time to the hour. In writing we will continue to practice writing a short story with a beginning, middle and end. The kiddos will also practice writing nonfiction sentences about ladybugs.

This week Mrs. Aldrich's class is hosting town hall meeting. Please out and come see us Friday @ 8:00am. We will be performing an insect song.

Thank you, to everyone that has turned in the permission slip to the zoo. If you have not turned in your child's slip please do so as soon as possible.

Sixth grade is working with the American Red Cross to help people in crisis. They are looking for toiletries, toys, gently used clothes and fleece, to make blankets. Thank you to those who have been able to donate!

Memory Words of the Week

To help our kiddos learn memory words we have added this section to the newsletter. Each week we will put two memory words for your kiddo to practice at home. The memory words featured in this section will also be the memory words we are practicing in class. We will also do our best to give you ideas in which you can practice the words at home. Please feel free to mark the memory word practice from this section on your child's Homework Menu. If your child is has mastered the memory words of the week feel free to pick a different word off of the BCSC memory word list.
