Background information

Did you know Germany was not the only country with concentration camps during the Holocaust ? Even though Germany was the most targeted with the most camps is was not the only country with the camps. Research tells me that there are many other countries that had concentration camps during the Holocaust. Other countries such as: The Netherlands, Czech Republic, Ukraine ,Latvia, Austria, France, Hungry, Russia, Holland, and Poland also had concentration camps during the time of the Holocaust.

One of the most important countries with concentration camps during the Holocaust was Poland. Poland was one of the most important because it was the first country that was targeted because it was the closest to Germany during this time. One of Poland's earliest camps was the Stutthof camp. The Stutthof camp opened on September of 1939 as a Forced Labor camp. It later closed on May of 1945.
