SPECIAL EDUCATION CORRECTIVE ACTION SURVEY: WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW!
Don't disregard this survey just because it says special education. Section 504 and Dyslexia in the state of Texas will definitely be topics of discussion for the next couple of months and years. If you read the Fall Newsletter and the article "Denied" , you know that there were some serious allegations regarding students not being identified for special education services and who may or may not have been served through Section 504. TEA Draft Corrective Action Plan Online Survey
During the 2016-2017 school year, the United States Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs performed a series of onsite monitoring visits to review Texas’ compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). TEA has scheduled multiple meetings with specific stakeholder groups to gather additional feedback on the draft plan. You have to be registered to attend. The Region 10 meetings are scheduled for February 27th and February 28th. Registration has not opened yet.
