ASPIRE Success Story

We had our first 5K fun run for our Mighty Milers Running Club on Saturday, Oct. 17th. Our students ran for the Hungry Hound Hustle – Don’t Forget to Feed Me Food Bank. The mission is to supply pet food to local food pantries in support of pet owners. By providing pet food for those in need during challenging financial time, they offer an option to surrendering -or worse, abandoning - a family pet. Our running club students ran to show support and compassion for a great cause. Our 5th grade student Jaden Juarez won 1st place for his age group! Way to go Bobcats!!

Lydia Calahan, ASPIRE Coordinator

I want to thank all our parents for allowing your child to participate in our after school program. We strive to provide a safe environment while providing innovative, engaging and a fun learning experience after school. I'm very passionate about my job and love giving your child an opportunity they otherwise may not be able to do outside of school.

This is my 12th year working in Birdville ISD. Before working as an ASPIRE Coordinator, I was a bilingual teacher for 5 years here at Jack C. Binion. When I'm not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, teach cycle class at L.A. Fitness and run marathons.

Please do not hesitate to contact me, if you have any questions.
