Thursday, August 27 Practices CANCELED
Due to continued unhealthy air quality in the Sacramento area as a result of wildfire smoke in the surrounding areas of Sacramento, we will be CANCELING tomorrow’s practices for both our morning practices at Bing Maloney and our evening practices at Foothill Golf Course.

Ladies on the Links "Girl Power in Golf"
We are looking forward to having everyone join tomorrow’s virtual convening from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m. Attached you will find the flyer for tomorrow’s Ladies on the Links conversation. This virtual gathering will include three special guest speakers:
Mackenzie Mack Mackenzie Mack is a competitor, a teacher and student when it comes to the game of golf. As a competitor, Mackenzie has played at the most elite levels of the game against some of the best in the world. As a junior golfer she played for and was a member of the following tours: the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA), the International Junior Golf Tour (IJGT), Teens on the Green and Western States Golf Association (WSGA). After achieving a stellar junior golf career, Mackenzie was awarded a full golf scholarship to Indiana State University (ISU) where she became the first Black woman to compete as a member of the Women’s Golf Team. After graduating from ISU in 2010, Mackenzie founded Tee it Up as a means of growing the game of golf and sharing her passion with underserved communities. As a student of the game, Mackenzie has perfected her craft by becoming a teaching professional member of the LPGA and has status on both the Suncoast Ladies and LPGA Symetra Tours. Mackenzie believes that “In golf and in life, every day is a new day.”
Ari Samuel Ari is a Sacramento native who started playing golf at the age of 13 years old and beginning her golf journey with the OneSwing Academy. Ari is also an alumnus of The First Tee Golf of Greater Sacramento. She graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 2018. From there she went off to start her collegiate career as a student athlete in golf at the University of West Georgia. Ari is currently a junior in college at the University of West Georgia, where she is majoring in Sports Management and minoring in Mass Communications. She has a cumulative GPA of 3.3. She intends to play golf at the next level and become a sports broadcaster.
Kiki Truijillo Kiki is a Sacramento native who began her golf career at eight years old and has been a part of OneSwing Golf since its founding year. She is also an alumnus of First Tee Golf of Greater Sacramento. Kiki received her bachelor’s degree from Holy Names University in Oakland, CA where she spent two years as a student athletic on scholarship for golf. She now works as a recruiter in the staffing industry working closely with community partners to aid refugees and low-income areas find work. Kiki hopes to continue to engage with her community and the youth to give them the opportunity she had to pursue an education with scholarship possibilities through the game of golf.
We are very excited to have all 3 ladies join us on this call tomorrow and we look forward to seeing you on there, too!
