Introduction (AB & HY)
John Bradley was one of the most important men out on the battlefield: the Corpsman. He was attached to the 5th Marine Division on Iwo Jima and was a member of the 28th Marine Regimen. They were in the 9th wave of the attack. John Bradley immediately attended to those wounded on the beach when he got there, and didn't stop to rest until there wasn't a single Marine still calling out to him. He did everything he could to save the lives of his comrads and put himself in danger on numerous occassions, even if the wounded man had a slim chance of survival. He believed that he could help people and it was his duty, and he wasn't about to leave anyone behind. He fought until the end and participated in the war bond drive, constantly looking out for Ira Hayes. He was a good man and deserves to be recognized as one of America's greatest heroes, both on the battlefield and at home.
