Message from Mrs. Martin, your principal
I hope this newsletter finds you all well this week. We have moved to sending our Bishop Bulletin to Friday mornings as an update/recap of the week of learning. Our teachers then send families an update on Monday so that you can see a week at a glance for your student's learning. As we continue to move through our remote learning experience, one of our goals is consistent and supportive communication. We are definitely all in this together!
Attendance
Teachers do take attendance each day while we are in remote learning. Our attendance right now is very flexible to allow for everyone's schedules. For students to be present for the day, they need to be "online" and complete learning activities assigned. Students have all day to complete assignments, it can even be early morning before class meetings or even in the evenings. It is really up to all of you! If we are noticing students not attending class meetings or completing assignments, we are contacting families to identify ways that we can support learning.
Grades
Students are receiving grades or comments on their learning or their learning assignments. As of now, teachers are collecting grades to reflect PARTICIPATION. As we get closer to the end of the school year, we will provide more details about how end of year grades will be assigned to students and how you will receive your child's end of year report card.
Thank you again for your continued support and collaboration with our Bishop Community to support your students! Please reach out with any questions or concerns.
Your principal,
Shanna Martin
