3rd Grade Rocks!
Need to Know Info...
PreK and Kindergarten Round-Up: We will host a virtual round-up this year. Two identical sessions will be held on March 11 at 7PM and March 16 at 9AM. Information about our school and how to get registered will be shared at that time. Families currently enrolled in our PreK program do not need to attend a round-up session. I will share a link to join our round-up in my next newsletter, and I will post it on our website as we get closer to that date. Please spread the word and encourage friends and neighbors to get signed up for school early. This helps us plan for staffing for the start of the school year.
Spring Assessments: In the coming weeks, students in grades 3-6 will participate in standardized testing. All 3rd grade students will take IREAD-3 March 8-10. Beginning April 19, students in grades 3-6 will participate in ILEARN. These tests help us evaluate our curriculum and efforts in helping students achieve grade level expectations. The data from the assessments is used to make decisions about instructional practices and to identify opportunities for remediation and enrichment based on each student's performance. It is so important for students to be in attendance during these assessment. Please be sure students are well rested and have a good breakfast on the days of their testing.
COVID Absences: Attendance continues to be strong at TES! Please refer to Mr. Ramey's latest update for the district which outlines testing guidelines and contact tracing procedures. As we continue to work through these COVID times, please keep the following attendance guidelines in mind:
- Do not send your child to school if he/she has been exposed to a positive COVID case or showing any symptoms related to COVID. Please contract the school to determine an appropriate return date and to find out what documentation is needed for your child to return to school.
- Parents should keep all students in the same household home from school when any member of the household presents with COVID symptoms. If your child becomes ill at school, you should expect all members of the same household to be sent home until a diagnosis is made by a healthcare professional.
