Formative assessment that is planned. The way your are going to determine the mastery of the learning target should be well planned. For example, if you are doing an exit card, what is the exact question you are going to ask the students.

We can do this. We can have a great 2 1/2 days with our students, know they got smarter because of us, and create memories with them.
#sanfordbookpusher This is your desk when you are a serious bookpusher like Roger D. in fifth grade Kristie McCray's class
2.5 days of GREAT instruction-December Instructional Focus (re-repost)
Our instructional time with our students is limited and precious. The month of December can include many distractions to instruction. Please keep the focus on your students academic and social emotional growth.
Learning can be fun.
Instruction can be fun.
To that end,
- Reading and math instruction must occur everyday.
- STEM projects including the suggestions that Shelly B. has sent out are great ideas that will keep the students engaged socially and cognitively.
- Work assignments that are grade level appropriate and result in student created work products are a great way to engage students during December.
- Students reading and writing Book Reviews so they can be a #sanfordbookpusher You Tuber will keep kids engaged in reading and writing for an authentic purpose.
- Lessons that use NearPod would be a good strategy.
To this end, there should be no videos that last longer than 30 minutes, thus movies should not be a part of our learning day. If you are absolutely convinced that you should be watching a video that is longer than 30 minutes, you are welcome to propose the idea to me for approval.
Our time with students is precious. We can create memories for them by engaging them in school and grade level appropriate learning activities throughout December
