The Weekly Update #9
From the Desk of Ms. Hicks
Unity Day is this Wednesday, Oct. 19th and all students and staff are encouraged to wear orange. Why orange? Orange is the color associated with safety and visibility. Orange is described as warm and inviting, and its vibrancy makes a strong statement. The purpose of Unity Day is to come together against bullying, and to unite for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. Here at Wiley H. Bates Middle School, we ask that our students show kindness to themselves and to others. Please help us remind students being kind is easy, free and goes a long way.
