Last Week of School

Dear Bransford Families,

We have a busy two and a half days at Bransford. On Tuesday, come out and watch the staff versus fifth graders in a friendly game of softball at 8:30 a.m. During the softball game four lucky students will be awarded bicycles, complements of State Farm (see below). In the afternoon, at 1:45 p.m., first graders will be celebrating their successes from the year. And, after school, we will have our last BES spirit night of the school year at Menchie's. Hope to see you there for some delicious frozen yogurt.

Wednesday we celebrate our fifth graders, many of whom have been BES Texans since kindergarten. The fifth grade awards start at 8:30 a.m. followed by a clap out down the Bransford halls. Fifth graders will then enjoy their end of year celebration at the park. We will end the day honoring the accomplishments of our terrific third graders at 1:30 p.m.

On Thursday our kindergarteners will wear white as they cross the stage one step closer to being first graders. All students are dismissed at 11:45 a.m. on Thursday. If you are looking to spend a little more time at BES before summer, our wonderful volunteers are helping staff move classrooms and prepare rooms for summer time starting at 2:00 p.m. Please join in the fun as many hands make light work!

It is hard to believe this is the last week of school. What an amazing year we've had together! Thank you for entrusting us with your students! It is an honor to work with each of them and each of you!

Elementary Electives

In the fall of 2015, the district solicited parent, staff and community member feedback through a new engagement tool, ThoughtExchange. Upon reviewing the feedback the district received, it became apparent that our elementary parents were interested in adding extracurricular activities to the school day. Unfortunately, due to the elements that must be taught through the state mandated curriculum, and the restrictions by the state for our school day, we are not able to add extracurriculars as part of our every day life at Bransford Elementary. In order to meet the needs of our families the district is looking at offering some extracurricular activities after school for a fee. If you are interested in possibly participating in this after-school offering, please take this brief survey to provide us with your feedback on course offerings and schedule.
