The Importance of Study
Studying the Hebrew Bible and especially the Torah is very important to Judaism. Jews also study interpretation of the Hebrew Bible made by scholars and religious leaders called rabbits.

This is the god they pray to everyday. His name is Yahweh or Jehovah
Latkes
They eat Latkes(Potato Pancakes) because they are cooked in oil and thus remind us of the miracle of the single cruse [pitcher of oil]. Rabbi Solomon Freehof, a great contemporary Jewish scholar, has hypothesized that the eating of latkes may have grown out of an old custom of eating milchig (dariy) food on Hanukkah.
Hanukka
The eight-day Jewish celebration known as Hanukka or Chanikah commemorates the rededication during the second century B.C. of the Second Temple in Jerusalem, where according to legend Jews had risen up against their Greek-Syrian oppressors in the Maccabean Revolt
