PENNY KITTLE IS COMING! PENNY KITTLE IS COMING! K-12 TEACHERS, PENNY KITTLE IS COMING!
This workshop is being offered to other teachers in the DFW metroplex for $229 per person on 5/13. However, GCISD's librarians felt so strongly about this opportunity that they have offered to sponsor the attendance of their teachers by helping to offset the cost of Kittle's visit*.
Teachers may arrange their own subs (paid out of campus funds), but all who plan to attend need to register in Eduphoria by APRIL 30.

*Special arrangements exist for SLES and GHES. Please see campus librarian or principal.

Books will be sent to teachers (unless they already have checked one out from Dr. Newell) prior to spring break, and the discussion of books will take place on April 29 (4-5:30).
25 BOOK CHALLENGE UPDATE
Please keep encouraging your students (and colleagues) to read for the 25 BookChallenge. We are seeing some amazing demonstrations of reading on campuses and celebrations on Twitter (#gcisd25). Remember that students who ordinarily struggle with reading should also be encouraged to read for the challenge and special instructions for teachers may be found here: https://docs.google.com/a/gcisd.net/document/d/1hDLQWADQSCBLNH2acqLuCzBIDkoaTzx4Tr01pF4ptwU/edit
PLEASE BE SURE TO SUBMIT THE NAMES OF STUDENTS WHO HAVE COMPLETED THE CHALLENGE ON THIS FORM:
