About RVLA
Rainier Valley Leadership Academy is a public, tuition-free charter school that provides an anti-racist collaborative community and rigorous education while providing access to civic leadership and college success for all scholars in Seattle and has traditionally served grades 6-12. With the addition of the elementary school RVLA seeks to cultivate the growth of our youngest learners to diminish learning gaps through engagement, love, kindness, joy, and rigorous academics. Our first class of Kindergarteners will commence 2024 with additional grade levels added each year.

TIP #5--Notice Numbers
What numbers are in your community? Point out numbers (on homes, apartments, elevators, clocks, recipes) and discuss what number it is. Starting from 1, count up to that number together.
TIP #6--Show Kindness
After your scholar does something kind, write, draw, paint, talk, sing, or dance about it. Highlight the moment and create something from it.

We the People Convening Conference, Tacoma, WA
Our CEO, Mrs. Baionne Coleman was one of three keynote speakers to lead the WA Office of Equity's We the People Convening Conference. This conference was used as a vehicle to show how community organizations are advancing equity and belonging in their respective fields. Specific action steps were shared and most importantly, conversation, feedback, and collaboration were highly encouraged and practiced.
