- All medications requiring administration at school must be brought to the school by a parent or guardian.
- No outside food or drink may be ordered and sent to the school for students; however, parents may bring food with them for a lunch visit with their child in our cafeteria.
CES Renovation/Construction
We are grateful to our school board for approving renovations at CES and cannot wait to see the finished product this fall! I am looking at this much like traveling – the sooner we start the journey, the sooner we can get there! Renovations will begin in both of our gymnasiums during spring break. Both gyms will be receiving new flooring, paint, lighting, and HVAC units. In order to start these updates, Physical Education (PE) classes will meet outside for the remainder of the school year. Please help us during your child’s PE rotations with the following:
- Students should wear clothing and shoes appropriate to participate in PE outdoors.
- Students should bring a water bottle to PE. (All students were given a STEAM water bottle during our Career Week they can use for this!)
**In the case of inclement weather, PE classes will meet in students’ classrooms, and our PE teachers will have an alternative lesson for our students.
In addition to our gym renovations, during the months of April and May, we will also begin renovations on our roof as well as classroom HVAC units. These updates will take place outside and should not affect the day-to-day operations of our school week. Renovations will then continue into the summer – including playground updates! We appreciate your partnership and support and look forward to highlighting ‘a new look’ when we return in August. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me via phone at 770-382-0983 or by e-mail at bbryant@cartersvilleschools.org.

*If you would like to review the online tools students will use on the Georgia Milestones End-of-Grade assessments, you can visit http://www.gaexperienceonline.com/. Note the Georgia Experience Online site is set up by grade bands and items do not necessarily represent the specific grade-level content that students learn daily in their classrooms. The primary purpose is to let students experience, firsthand, the functionality of the online testing platform.
*Additional information about testing will be shared at our April PTC meeting. This will also be a time for questions, or you may contact our testing coordinator, Gary Morris, at gmorris@cartersvilleschools.org.
*We know this can be an anxious time for students, so please help us remind them they have been preparing for this all year. We simply ask they do their best! You can help us from home by:
- Being in attendance and on-time to school each testing day.
- Making sure your child receives a good night's sleep before each test.
- Encouraging them to simply do their best.
- Eating a healthy breakfast each morning. (Breakfast is available at school each day!)
PTC (Parent Teacher Cooperative):
Our next PTC meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 11th at 5:15. We will share information about spring volunteer opportunities, building renovations, teacher appreciation, GMAS testing, and more! And thank you so much to our PTC and parent volunteers for an amazing Scholastic Spring Book Fair!
