Both will be accessible from home. A link is provided on each grade level's learning plan. Here is the link for your reference.
Communication
All teachers will be available daily from 9:00a.m.-11:00a.m. for communication. This could include e-mail, phone, google hangouts, zoom, etc. Students and parents are welcome to reach out to teachers at anytime during the day. Please allow some grace and patience with responses. Some may be available to answer immediately, while others may be delayed. Teachers have been instructed to respond within 24 hours. If you still have a situation that hasn't been answered/resolved, please email Mrs. Bishop directly and I will help coordinate efforts to provide the support needed.
Learning specialists (special education) will be contacting individual students/parents directly to explain instruction and activities.

The next 2 weeks of lesson plans will be available through the templates below. Please be sure to keep a look out for emails from teachers with more explanation.
School Nurse
Our district nurse, Julia Harrison, will be checking her email daily during our school closure. If you have school-related health needs, please email her at jharrison@blairoaks.org.
School Counselor
Mrs. Hentges' Read Aloud- I Feel Silly
During this extended closure time Mrs. Hentges would like to be available to her students as needed. Please feel free to email Mrs. Hentges (jhentges@blairoaks.org) at any time. Please know that she will respond to her emails as quickly as possible (if it is after 8pm she may not respond until the following morning). If your child needs to speak with Mrs. Hentges please email her to set up a time and method for communication.You will also find many resources on Mrs. Hentges’ school webpage.
School Library
We currently do not have any open library times. Please contact Diane Eggen if you have any specific requests. deggen@blairoaks.org
**Please note- Students will not be charged a fine for overdue books.
Office Hours
Week of April 6-10: No office hours
Mrs. Bishop will be in the office each day; however, hours will vary. If you need materials or to exchange a Chromebook that isn't working properly, please email her directly to coordinate a time to meet.

Meal Requests
The meal sign up for next week (April 6 - April 9) was sent out yesterday. You can access using link below if you still need to sign up. Make note - no delivery on Good Friday. Originally, we were not in school on this day, so no lunch will be served. We will be providing meals via delivery only. Pick-up orders will not be an option.

Free and Reduced Breakfast/Lunch
Families who are experiencing financial hardship as a results of the corona virus may become eligible for free or reduced breakfast and lunch benefits. Those families who feel like they may now qualify should resubmit free and reduced eligibility paperwork.

Elementary Secretary
It is with great sadness that we announce our secretary, Lydia Mietzner will be leaving Blair Oaks Elementary. We are so sad to see her go, but so happy for her new endeavors. Thank you Lydia for your time and support to Blair Oaks!
We are excited to announce our new lead secretary to the elementary principal, Claire Neeley. You will be seeing her in the office more once we return to school.

My name is Claire Neeley and I am very excited to begin my new role as a secretary at
the elementary school. I am looking forward to working with the staff, students and families of
Blair Oaks Elementary. My husband, Matt, works for Ameren at Callaway Nuclear Power Plant. Our daughter, Abby, will be starting kindergarten this coming Fall. We are excited to become a part of the Blair Oaks family! I will put forth my best effort to make any trip to the office a pleasant one!!
Summer School 2020 Sign Ups
For anyone interested in their child attending Summer School, please fill out the appropriate enrollment form below. The deadline for first-priority enrollment is Friday, April 17, 2020.
We will continue to monitor the protocols set forth by the Cole County Health Department regarding COVID-19. Communication regarding summer school will be relayed through online newsletters and the elementary school website.
*Please note: There are two different enrollment forms. Please choose the form for the grade your child will be ENTERING in the 2020-2021 school year.
A confirmation email with all summer school information will be sent to the individual that fills out the form at the end of April/beginning of May.
Who: Students entering grades K-4 and grades 5-8 in the 2020-2021 school year
*Students entering grades 5-8 will choose their class preference on the provided form.
When: Mondays-Thursdays (No Fridays)
Duration: Session 1 (May 27 - June 10) and Session 2 (June 11 - June 25)
Time: 7:45am-3:00pm
Cost: Free enrollment. Only the cost of breakfast and lunch will be due.
