Alder Weekly Update
Week of October 11, 2020
Message from the Principal
Hello Alder Parents, Teachers and Students,
We hope that you had and enjoyable week! We have continued this week to prepare for students and staff return to school for in-person learning. We are working to ensure that safety is foremost. Our mailers have been sent home, so that all of you know the Group (A or B) in which students have been designated. This tells you the days for in- person learning. These groups are shown in a box at the bottom of the welcome letter. In addition, the bus passes give information about bus number, pick up location, and time.
Our counselors started back here with virtual groups and also a few in person groups. They had been available virtually, but it is wonderful to have them back at school with us. They are here for students in need of counseling or other school support.
I have placed the same reminder for parents as last week, in case you need it. If you prefer to call, please call the school number at 609-383-3366 and dial the extensions indicated next to their name.
Again, HERE is the BREAKDOWN of counseling support by last name:
Mrs. Riis, ext. 1421 A-H
Mr. Gitto, ext. 1424 I-Q
Mr. Spence, ext. 1420 R-Z
Next week is School Violence Awareness Week. In Accordance with the New Jersey School Association (18A:36-5.1) all public school districts are required to annually designate the third week in October as School Violence Awareness Week. School districts observe this week by providing age-appropriate instruction to discuss methods for keeping schools safe from violence and to consider school safety. At Alder and across the district, there are special dress days. This will allow us to join together, show unity, and find ways to be kind, showing love, peace, and kindness in our approach over violence and aggression.
Have a great week and as we prepare to come in, please let us know how we may help.
