Cook Middle School

Theme: "We're Going Places"

Message from Principal Drayton

Parents and Guardians,

The first day of school (August 22nd) is quickly approaching! We are very excited to fill our classrooms with curious children as they embark upon a middle school journey that will transform their lives!

Our beliefs

We believe in quality first time learning. We believe in creating a sense of belonging for every student. We believe in recognizing the needs of our students and adjusting our plans and approach. We believe that "Rangers Today, are Leaders Tomorrow!"

A Model School

This summer, the Cook instructional leadership team was invited to present at the Model Schools Conference in Orlando, Florida at the Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin resort. Over 6,000 educators from around the nation were in attendance. I am honored to announce that Cook is identified as a model school by the International Center for Leadership in Education (ICLE).

Your child will be educated at a school with skilled and dedicated professionals who are committed to bringing out the best in all students! Collaborating with your support and our passion, I am absolutely confident that your child can experience growth and success at Cook Middle School!

Our first event of the year will be on Saturday - August 13th! Please join us for Ranger Camp (6th graders only), and Ranger Express! More details may be found below. Be sure to stop by, shake my hand, and say hello - I love "high-fives!"

We need your help

  • At Cook we expect our Rangers to exhibit R.O.C.K behavior each day. We teach our Rangers to be Respectful, Organized, Cooperative, and Kind. Please talk to your child about the importance of these R.O.C.K. qualities
  • Ensure that your student wears an ID badge every day - students without ID badges will not be able to ride the bus home.
  • Encourage your child to come to school with a backpack full of curiosity and questions.
  • Students may only bring clear water bottles. Water bottles must not have a color, they must be clear.
  • Electronic devices must be powered off upon entering the building - earphones, airpods, and listening devices may not be used. Electronic devices may be used in the classroom for instructional purposes with teacher permission.
  • Dress code expectations, policies & procedures may be found on the Cook Middle School website under Parents & Students (https://www.cfisd.net/Page/6424)
  • Big smiles, positive attitudes, and friendly faces are encouraged and welcomed!
  • Please resolve fees and fines so that your child may enjoy all of the action-packed, extra curricular, heart racing activities that Cook has to offer.
  • Students are required to bring their charged laptop device and power cord daily.
  • Please update your contact information (phone & email). Important information is often share via email, text message blast, and school messenger
IMPORTANT UPDATE: Breakfast/Lunch will not be free

We need all parents to complete the Free/Reduced Meal Application. Please click the banner above to access the CFISD nutrition services website. You will find a box marked "Begin Application." We need ALL parents and guardians to complete this task.
