Knightly Update September 19, 2021
ACP High School - Edition Vol 1 Issue 11
It is hard to believe the last week of the quarter is here. In my opinion, the first quarter of the year always seems to be the longest or slowest quarter, but my goodness did it go by quickly. It has been awesome working with our students, watching them transform our new building into ACP. It has been a history-making quarter for our school, and I appreciate all the hard work put forth to make the opening of this campus so special. Thank you, Knights!
I am extremely excited to announce that the Class of 2022 has nine National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists! These individuals are among the best of the best and are highlighted in the Knights in the Spotlight section of today's update. The score each student received on last year's PSAT qualified them for this amazing recognition and opportunity. Congratulations to each of them! This year's PSAT will be administered on October 26th, and I hope to see as many (or more!) of this year's juniors qualify as National Merit Semifinalists next year.
At Friday's football game, host Odyssey Institute was using the game as an opportunity to raise funds for juvenile cancer research. One sponsor shared they would donate $50 for every touchdown scored by Odyssey. At halftime, our students in attendance realized the chances of Odyssey scoring were not strong as our defense was smothering any offensive possession Odyssey had. Because of this, our students took it upon themselves to ask our fans in the bleachers to considering donating money to Odyssey's cause. In a matter of minutes, the kids collected and donated $200 to give to the school and their fundraiser. It was a heartfelt gesture and showed the compassion and concern our students have for others in our community. Nicely done, Knights.
As this is the last Knightly Update of the quarter, I want to thank everyone again for all they have done to get the year off to a great start. It really has been an amazing quarter. I appreciate the patience and flexibility demonstrated by all of you as we opened our school and worked out a few hiccups along the way. Job well done! Please remember quarter grades will be available for review on Friday via the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. I hope our students are pleased with their progress. If there are any academic concerns, please contact the appropriate instructor.
Enjoy the break and and get some well-earned rest and relaxation. Don't forget to attend the various school events that will be held this week and throughout the break and come cheer on your Knights. Have a safe and fantastic intersession! See you October 12th. Go, KNIGHTS!
