IAR Testing for Remote Students

IAR Testing for Remote Students - Parent Survey

IAR testing will be coming soon in March and April, 2021.

This assessment is a federal requirement for all students who are in grades 3-8.

The assessment must be given in person.

We will be testing students at our school building during the school day.

We are planning to offer our remote students the option to complete the assessment at Conrady during the school day, after school, or on a Saturday.

If your student learns remotely, please support us in preparing for this assessment by completing this parent survey by Monday, March 8. If you have already filled out the form, you do not need to fill it out again.

As we approach the testing dates, more information will follow.

Please read this important letter with your eighth grader so they understand their responsibilities as a Conrady student preparing to graduate.

February Recognize a Star - Congratulations Mary Beth Hines and Emily Betts!

I would like to recognize both Mrs. Betts and Mrs. Hines. During this school year they have stayed positive and patient with the students. They have kept open communication consistent with updates. My son is doing fully remote learning. He has thrived because of both of them. They clearly are a team and it shows. I feel during this difficult time they have gone above and beyond to be the best teachers for the students at Conrady.

2021 Parent Survey Available Now

Click here to take the 2021 Parent 5Essentials Survey
The survey opens Feb. 3, 2021 and closes April 2, 2021.

The 5Essentials Survey identifies five indicators that lead to improved outcomes for all students, including improved attendance and larger test score gains.

The five indicators that positively affect school success are:

  1. Effective Leaders
  2. Collaborative Teachers
  3. Involved Families
  4. Supportive Environments
  5. Ambitious Instruction

Research derived from the Five Essentials for School Success has proven that schools strong on at least three of the 5Essentials are 10 times more likely to improve student outcomes.

Students in the LEAP program learn about NASA Missions

Ms. Katie Mathis and the students in the LEAP Program learned about NASA's Mars Perseverance Rover and NASA's mission to use the rover to explore Mars and signs of past life. The class checked in with NASA on Thursday, February 18th, when NASA was preparing for Perseverance to land on the surface of Mars. They were able to learn more about the mission itself and watched animations of the dangerous decent to the surface of Mars straight from the leads of NASA at Mission Control!

Learning Improvisation

Sixth grade students from Mrs. Dignin's Drama class are learning how to do Improv. Improv is a form of acting in which the actors improvise a scene from audience suggestions.

The students had a lot of fun making their audience laugh.

Read-Aloud with Ms. Halley

Ms. Albon's 6th grade ELA class enjoy weekly visits from Ms. Danette Halley, the Media Center Clerk at Conrady, as she reads aloud from favorite stories.

Messages from the Nurse's Office

Attention Eighth Grade Parents

8th grade students will be receiving a hearing and vision screening over the next few weeks. If your child wears glasses please remind them to have and wear them at school.

Attention Sixth Grade Parents

6th grade dental requirements are fast approaching. If you need to make an appointment with the dentist please do so. If you have not turned in the exam report please turn it into Conrady's office. All 6th graders are required by the state to have a dental exam.

If your 6th grader is still missing their physical or any immunizations please follow up with your doctors office. Some offices have received the required vaccines.

Keep children home if they are sick

Please remember to keep your child home from school if they have any flu like symptoms or COVID symptoms. Students are required to be symptom free for 48 hours and cleared by the COVID team prior to returning to school. Students should join their classes remotely if they are able to. Thank you for keeping our students and staff healthy.
