Message From Principal McCarney

Dear Stafford Families,

It is with much anticipation and excitement that I welcome you to another fantastic year at Stafford Primary! When you reflect back on all your family experienced over the summer I hope there was plenty of laughter and togetherness. This week there was a Social Studies Camp for teachers across the district and it was so lovely having the hum of learning back in the building. Our team is busily preparing for the arrival of students on Monday, August 26. I have no doubt the 2019-2020 school year is going to be amazing!

Due to ongoing enrollment and finalizing of staffing, class placement letters will be mailed on Monday, August 19. These letters will include important back-to-school dates and information. If you do not receive your placement letter by the morning of Thursday, August 23, please call the office or stop by prior to our Meet and Greet on Thursday afternoon to find out your child's classroom teacher.

Our staff has worked collaboratively, diligently, and thoughtfully through the spring and summer to create classroom communities in which each child will flourish academically, socially, and emotionally. A new school year brings with it opportunities for students to reconnect with existing friendships and establish new connections. While it feels unfamiliar, it does not take long for students to feel comfortable with their new teacher and routines.

Please see the dates below and visit the Stafford Primary School website at for information regarding the start to a fresh year of learning and growing together!

Warm regards,

Sara McCarney

2019-2020 Bus Routes Now Available

Our 2019-20 Bus Routes are now posted on the District Website and available in FamilyLink. Make sure to view up-to-date routes before the start of the school year. If you have specific requests regarding your student(s)' bus regular pickup or dropoff locations, parents should access the school district's FamilyLink system. Navigate to the 'Bus Information' portion of FamilyLink to fill out a request. Note that available space on a bus is a primary consideration when allowing these requests. Families can request to be picked up or dropped off at an alternative existing location, but the district will not create new or unplanned stops or routes for requests. Families are encouraged to submit requests now as the process could take up to two weeks.

More information regarding bus routes, including snow routes, can be found under the Community Tab of the district website.

Volunteer Registration

Volunteer in WLWV Schools

The West Linn-Wilsonville School District uses HelpCounter for volunteer registration and sign-in to increase safety and security for all students. Interested volunteers can register to volunteer in WLWV schools by visiting the Volunteer Registration webpage. Simply select 'Start' to fill out your application, which includes a background check. The first time that volunteers sign-in to volunteer at any WLWV school they will be prompted to accept a Volunteer Agreement. Volunteers must also re-register every three years, or when volunteering at a new school. Note that volunteer coaches register through a different process. Contact your school's athletic director or principal for more information.

Volunteering in WLWV schools is an extremely rewarding experience. Your time is greatly appreciated by both staff and students!
