GEOGRAPHY COURSES

Grade 11 (CGG3O0) Geography: Students examine issues related to travel & tourism, travel patterns, trends, tensions related to tourism and the impact of the travel industry on natural environments and communities. They will use the geographic inquiry process to determine how the significance of location plays a role in the issues and patterns within travel and tourism.
Grade 12 Geography (CGW4U0): Students investigate current issues in the world and look for solutions and deep analysis through extended application of the geographic inquiry process.
HISTORY COURSES
*CHC2D0/2P, CHW3M0, CHY4U0
Grade 11 History (CHW3M0): Students will investigate the history of humanity from earliest times to the sixteenth century. They will analyze diverse societies from around the world, and apply historical inquiry, critical-thinking skills to evaluate the influence of groups and innovations.
Grade 12 History (CHY4U0): This course traces major developments and events in world history since 1450. Students will explore significant changes, roots of contemporary issues and the role of conflict in the world. They will apply extended historical thinking concepts as they investigate key issues to assess societal progress and decline.

LAW COURSES
CLU3M0, CLN4C0, CLN4U0
Grade 12 (CLN4C0): Legal Studies - students will learn about the importance of law, contemporary legal issues, conflict resolution skills. They will also explore various law-related careers.
Grade 12 (CLN4U0): Canadian and International Law - students will investigate law within Canadian and international concepts and develop an understanding of the principals of religion and security as major influencers of the global justice system.

ECONOMICS COURSES

CIA4U0: Students will learn about the current trends in the global economy as it responds to the challenges of globalization, inequalities, debt, etc.. They will investigate the impact of individual and corporate/insitutional choices on the production, consumption and distribution of wealth.
SOCIAL SCIENCES AND HUMANITIES COURSES
HSE4M0: Students will learn about the various equity and social justice issues in Canada and the world. They will explore power relations and how these impact equity and social justice. Specific challenges to be examined include: bias, stereotypes, discrimination, oppression.
HZT4U0: Students will learn about the different branches of philosophical thinking and approaches. They will use critical thinking skills to examine the practice of various philosophers over time and apply these skill to determine relevance to today's current issues.
