TONIGHT Upper School Curriculum Night
TONIGHT, August 15th will be our Upper School Curriculum Night from 6 - 7. If you have a child in grades 5-8, attendance at curriculum night is mandatory. What is curriculum night? Teachers speak with parents on curriculum, routines and expectations—all of which are a great help in getting families prepared for a successful school year. We apologize, but childcare is not available through the school for this event.
TOMORROW, August 16th is a 1/2 Day
-August 16th
-August 30th
-September 14th and 15th
Carambola Music Program Artist in Residence Coming to Civano, August 28-31
Maria y Yahví joyfully share music from various Mexican music traditions including music from the U.S./Mexico border, Son Jarocho (Veracruz), and Son Calentano (Michoacan/Guerrero). They are both multi-instrumentalists and vocalists. They co-founded Carambola Community Music (El Paso) in October of 2015, where they get to share their love of music by teaching people of all ages. These players have deep roots and connections to the music and instruments they play. They have traveled to Mexico for the past 12 years studying with master musicians. Their instrumentation includes fiddle, guitar, jarana, voice, percussion and marimbol.
This program is being generously funded by your Tax Credit donations at work!

You will order them through the lunch menu below and just indicate on the form whether you would rather have cheese or pepperoni. McKinney-Vento Form:
In your purple folder today, you will find a white McKinney-Vento eligibility form which helps us as a district identify students who are homeless or transient that may need support. This form MUST be filled out for each student. Please return by Friday.
CivanoArts Fundraising Campaign:

Kitchen Duty Openings
Gaps on the Kitchen Duty schedule for this week we're still hoping to find coverage for:
9:00am - 10:30am on Fri 8/18
Please spread the word-- If you can help, or know someone who can, please sign up via our Doodle poll.
Remember, kitchen volunteers get a FREE lunch!!
Lunch Ordering:
Thank you for your patience as we get rolling with online lunch orders. The suggestion I've heard the most is that families need more time to order lunches. I will make sure and get lunch orders out ahead of time by 2 weeks instead of 1 from now on. That will give families time to order and get checks to the office in plenty of time. The September lunch order is below. You have until NEXT Friday, August 25th to submit your order. Also, below the order, you will find a simple document with the lunch menu to print out and hang on your fridge. My plan is to simply write the initials of each of my kids that ordered lunch that day next to the date. Hope this helps you keep track of who ordered lunch on which days.
Mark your calendars:
