Kirk Fenton News
13th March 2020
Dear Parents / Carers,
This week has been another busy week in school with the added uncertainty of what would happen should the school be closed. We have had very positive monitoring visits from both our SEND Governor and our Safeguarding Governor to ensure that the school is following procedures correctly and that provision for pupils with SEND is ensuring they make good progress.
The end of the week has seen children from Key Stage 2 taking part in a Basketball competition at Sherburn High School. They showed great perseverance and respect and did well to come in fourth place.
We ended the week taking part in Sports Relief and the children have enjoyed a day of different sporting activities whilst learning about why sport is important for their mental health as well as their physical health. Thank you for all your donations to this important cause.
Finally, we now have more detailed advice from the Multi Academy Trust asking us to postpone any school events that are not part of our normal school day. This means that we will need to postpone the Phonics Information evening that was due to take place on Monday for Acorn, Birch and Willow classes and also this term's parents evenings. The health and safety of our pupils and staff is always my priority and I thank you for your understanding.
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Karen Williams
