Frontier Schools Safety and Security
It is never easy to hear about or understand senseless school tragedies. Our students are our top priority and Frontier Schools is committed to providing a safe and secure learning environment for them. We continually assess and evaluate our protocols and security systems. Processes in place include:
Each school has an assigned security guard stationed in the front lobby. They circulate through the building and the grounds at various times to make sure everything is secured.
All schools have secured entries which require office staff or a security guard to allow entry into the buildings.
All visitors must provide photo identification. IDs are scanned through our Raptor Security System and a background check is quickly conducted.
Security cameras are in place throughout the buildings and parking lots and record any activity in or on school grounds.
All teachers and staff members practice fire, tornado and intruder drills on a regular basis. In addition, teachers are trained in CPI (Crisis Prevention and Intervention) and ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate).
Trauma Informed Care:
Frontier Schools are trauma informed schools and have measures in place to assist students and families.
Each school has a Crisis Intervention Team allowing students access to social workers and/or other trained staff members who need assistance throughout the school day.
Frontier Schools will continue to assess and evaluate to make sure our students are learning in a safe and secure environment.

Frontier Schools Complimentary Yard Signs!
With our diverse student body, home visits are paramount in bridging cultural gaps that might exist. These visits also provide opportunities for staff to understand their students better by visiting them in their home environments. The goal is to foster a true partnership - with both students and their families.
Please join us on April 13th for our district-wide, annual Multicultural Festival that celebrates and connects the many cultures that are represented at Frontier Schools. Our diverse student body draws from more than 10 countries - this is something to celebrate! The event is meant to capture and create community by encouraging people to learn from each other while sharing tradition and culture.
While the Festival takes place all in one evening, preparing and getting ready for the hundreds of students, families, and community members that come takes months. Our staff, students, and families work very hard preparing their country booths, performances, and eclectic dishes. Country booths are designed to highlight the country's flag, traditions, celebrations, foods, dress and notable art. This fun and exciting event is guaranteed to have something for everyone, including: music, dance, poetry, art, games, and an abundance of authentic foods representing diverse cultures.
We hope to see you there!
Importance of Attendance & Student Portal
Importance of Attendance:
Encouraging regular school attendance is one of the most powerful ways you can prepare your child for success – both in school and in life. When you make school attendance a priority, you help your child get better grades, develop healthy life habits, and avoid dangerous behavior.
Attention Parents! Your child must be present at school at least 90% throughout the school year to be promoted to the next grade level. To assist you in monitoring this, we've updated the Attendance Tab in the Student Portal.

Playground Project: Update
The construction of the Playground Project will begin on March 1st, 2018 and should be completed by Spring 2018.
FSI Elementary is home to K-3rd grade classes for approximately 500 students, but is proud to announce the opening of the new Pre-Kindergarten (Pre-K) program for the 2018-19 school year. These school years offer them their last opportunity to still be kids before moving on to middle school.
With our increased enrollment, recess on the playground at FSI Elementary needs additional space and updated equipment.
If you have any questions, please email Jennifer Watson at firstname.lastname@example.org.
