A Message from Principal Bame
Dear Laurel Park Families,
June is right around the corner, which means we have a very busy month ahead! Our track 1 students began End of Grade testing today, while all other tracks will have a few more weeks to prepare. Please pay special attention to school communications as we prepare for the new school year.
WCPSS is experiencing a substitute and teacher shortage this spring. Our administration is working, behind the scenes, to recruit highly qualified staff members for our upcoming school year. We plan to release our 2022-23 LPES Staff List as soon as it is finalized. If you are interested in becoming a substitute teacher, please visit: https://www.wcpss.net/subs
Please make sure you are receiving school text messages and emails. We send updates for inclement weather procedures, reminders about special events, and more. To learn more about opting into school communications, please visit: https://www.wcpss.net/Page/36463
Kind regards,
Principal Raleigh Bame

Saludos cordiales,
Director Raleigh Bame

COVID Updates from Ms. Lovett
Greetings, LPES Family,
Student and staff illness is on the rise again, including positive COVID diagnoses. If your child presents with COVID symptoms throughout the day and cannot attend to the school work, your child may be sent home. For students to return to school after experiencing symptoms of illness, we need either an alternative diagnosis from a medical professional OR a negative rapid or PCR COVID test. If your child does not have either, then they must remain from school for at least five days.
Please contact Ms. Lovett (clovett@wcpss.net) if there is a positive COVID diagnosis in the home.
Weekly on-campus testing will occur until the end of the school year. Students can still register to participate in the weekly testing at the link below.
Testing day, time, and location:
Fridays in the Conference Room, 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM
How can students register?

Announcement from Mrs. Sonstroem
Mrs. LeSueur will start sending email announcements about overdue books to Track 1 families this week. Please check your junk mailbox in case notices are misdirected. All Track 1 student's books should be returned by May 25th.
Tracks 2, 3 & 4 will need to return books by June 22nd.
What is Happening in STEM Class?
Families,
You may have some questions about Chromebooks at the end of the year. You keep them and take them with you to the next grade. That includes 5th graders going to middle school. If you are leaving WCPSS, then you need to turn them in to the media center.
As always, if something is broken, please let Mrs. LeSueur or Ms. Trent know, so we can get it fixed. If you accidentally have an extra cord from an old Chromebook, please turn that in too.
Thanks,
Tiffany Trent

The app will identify Box Tops products on your receipt and automatically credit your school’s earnings online. Twice a year, our school will receive a check.
