TTSD Community Newsletter
February 12, 2021
Dear TTSD Families,
We are ending this week with great optimism. We successfully launched our second week of Limited In-Person Instruction (LIPI). Washington County moved from the Extreme Risk category to High Risk as health metrics continue to improve, and the new guidance from state leaders will bring high school athletic competition back in the coming weeks. TTSD will continue to take full advantage of every revision to current policies and guidance that will safely allow us to welcome our students back into the classroom, onto our fields and courts, into our labs, counseling centers, auditoriums, art rooms and all. Athletics Update and Information
New State guidance this week led to Tigard and Tualatin High Schools announcing that they will be opting out of the county risk levels in order to opt-in to the contact football season for this spring, 2021. Both schools are preparing all of the necessary precautions outlined by OSAA and OHA.
While we know for many families this brings great joy, we know other families may need additional follow up and information about the impact this opportunity will have on their families and communities. Please reach out to your coaches, athletic directors, or principals for additional information or with any potential concerns.
Although this update is specific to football, we are also hopeful that updated guidance will allow opportunities for our student-athletes involved in other contact sports, such as basketball, volleyball, and wrestling. We will keep the community informed as we receive further guidance.
Inclement Weather Updates
With the anticipated snow and icy conditions, this is a reminder to all our families that Distance Learning will continue and classes will be held as scheduled. District buildings are closed through the weekend and future updates for CDL learning or weather-related notifications will be sent through the following platforms:
