Staff Newsletter - Week of 01/07/19
Happy New Year!
Well, this is our first full week of school in 2019. I hope you got to enjoy your weekend by doing something fun and relaxing.
We are going to be pretty busy this week with planning and data meetings. I know you all are wondering...Why in the world did they schedule the data meetings this week? Well, we have BLN and Math Vertical Team meetings next week so several teachers will be out of the building. Also, the content window is only open from January 3 - January 23. We wanted to be sure you had time to review the items with your students before the window closed. Having the meetings this week will allow everyone to attend and give you time to build in the review of the items with your class. We will send out the data sheets asap so that you have time to complete them before your data review (Thanks Mrs. Wheeler for the reminder about the data sheets).
Remember that the Awards Ceremonies are on Friday! Please make sure that you have your information ready for the ceremony. We will have to move very quickly during each ceremony so that we can be prepared for the next group. Also, you do not have to dress up but please do not wear jeans on Friday. We will have lots of parents in the building for this event. You can use Thursday as your jeans day this week.
Please remember to return your preference forms by the due date.
Have an awesome week of teaching and learning!
Generals Salute!
Kelli

5 Star Salute (Shout Outs)
From Mia Barber - I would like to give a big shout to Ms. George. Ms. George let her students assist my kindergarten students with signing on the computers in the lab. Because of this kind act, all my students were able to get on and attempt the test :)
Welcome to Patti Coddens - please stop by give Mrs. Coddens a warm Partee ES welcome. She moved here from Indiana where she worked in a Bookkeeper role at a HS with over 3,000 students. She bring a lot of experience and is working on getting trained on EVERYTHING! :-) A big shout out to the office staff for helping her learn the ropes.
From Leslie Hutto - I would like to thank Ms. Baker and Ms. Colbert for their clothes donations to the clinic :)
If you have any shout outs to share, please send them to me by Friday of each week.
Fire Marshal Inspection
The Fire Marshal will be returning soon to re-inspect the building. Mr. Dimitryi will be sharing the information on the report with select teachers to be sure that the problem areas are resolved before she returns. We will also send out the Fire Marshal guidelines that need to be followed. If you have any areas that need to be addressed on that list, please take care of them right away. If you have questions, please ask Dimitryi.

Lexia Learning Update
It is extremely important that you check to ensure that ALL of your students have been initially assessed using the Lexia program. We have been selected as a pilot school for this program, thus the data that Partee generates is important in the district analysis of the program as a whole; this is not optional. Please be sure to log into your account to monitor student usage and progress weekly. ALL EIP students are required to be on Lexia 60 minutes per week. Also, any student that you are considering referring to SST, must have Lexia data.
Opportunities for students to meet their weekly goals:
- Morning work - when they enter the classroom in the morning
- Technology or Media Center Specials - the first or last part of the class
- End of the day - right before bus call
- EIP - the first or last part of the EIP segment
Please see Dr. Allen if you need assistance.
