A Note from our PFC Co-Presidents
As you know it’s Black History Month, and there are a lot of resources to learn about and celebrate some of America’s most important artists and thinkers. We’ve been enjoying 28 Days of Black History, a virtual exhibition of 28 works delivered to your inbox every day that celebrate Black legacy in the U.S., curated by Anti-Racism Daily.
We are also now at the half-way point between Winter and Spring, which means that now is the time to start planning your garden and cleaning off the cobwebs!
Thank you to all of our committed workers on the PFC Board who are behind the scenes, bringing us Take-Out days, Spirit Wear, the Annual Fund and the upcoming Benefit Auction! Keep your eyes and ears peeled for more information on The Benefit Auction, which will look a bit different this year than when we could all come together for a night. We have some great ideas, but we need more heads and hands to make them come to life so that we can all score some great items and support our school — please consider joining a planning meeting on Wednesdays at 7pm, information here. Speaking of supporting our school...The Annual Fund is still rolling and any little bit helps. You can use the link below right now if you'd like!
Last but not least THANK YOU parents, teachers and all of our school staff who are working relentlessly to bring our kids the best pandemic experience possible. You all are AMAZING!
May the winds of fortune sail you. May you sail a gentle sea. May it always be the other guy who says this drinks on me!
Stay safe out there!
Alicia Streight & Rex Crum

About the Thornhill Newsletter
The Thornhill Parent-Faculty Club (PFC) eNews team publishes this weekly newsletter each Tuesday in the school year to communicate school, PFC and OUSD news, events and information.
Email submissions to our Newsletter Chair, Jill Evans, at firstname.lastname@example.org by 8 p.m. Thursday for approval—nothing sent after this will be included in the following week’s newsletter unless there are extremely compelling extenuating circumstances. It’s fine to include text in the body of the email with links and no formatting, and attach photos preferably as 150 x 150, 72 dpi JPG or GIFs only (not embedded in email or Word file). Submissions may be edited for spelling, grammar, brevity and clarity. Advertising and items not related to Thornhill are not accepted, as we need to keep the newsletter focused on need-to-know info for the community.
THANK YOU to everyone who submits articles and to PFC Board Members, Teachers, VPs of Communications Erin Proudfoot & Evie Nagy, PFC Presidents Rex Crum & Alicia Streight, and Principal Steve Daubenspeck. Member of Oakland Unified School District (OUSD).
