Who Is Going To Help The Arctic?

What government group is involved in climate change in the arctic ?
Climate change has gained interest about the Arctic, yet climate change remains a secondary issue for the government when governed by the Harper’s. Since Jean Chretien's Liberals signed the Kyoto Protocol, Canada's record on controlling the greenhouse gas emissions that cause climate change has been the worst of all signatories.
Arctic Warmth
The arctic is slowly warming up all the ice is melting. As you can see in this map some of the parts of the arctic are really hot and in the arctic that is how the weather is every day. Because of the climate change in the arctic animals homes are being destroyed and animals are dying because they are not use to this weather
Average Sea Ice Extent
How its Caused
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change just released the first of four chapters of its Fifth Assessment Report. It shows scientists are more certain now than in 2007 when the Fourth Assessment was released that humans are largely responsible for global warming — mainly by burning fossil fuels and cutting down forests and that it's getting worse and poses a serious threat to humanity. It contains hints of optimism, though, and shows addressing the problem creates opportunities.
An increase in global average temperatures greater than 2 C above pre-industrial levels would result in further melting of glaciers and Arctic ice, continued rising sea levels, more frequent and extreme weather events, difficulties for global agriculture and changes in plant and animal life, including extinctions
The Arctic's Record Breaking Ice Melt
The Arctic is warming faster than the rest of the world
Shiny ice and snow reflect a high proportion of the sun's energy into space. As the Arctic loses snow and ice, bare rock and water absorb more and more of the sun’s energy, making it ever warmer. This is called the albedo effect.
Why It Matters
Arctic Change Affects Everyone
Climate change in the Arctic is not just a local problem -- it's a global problem. The feedback's from the Arctic are increasing global sea levels, they are predicted to change global climate and precipitation patterns, and the effects of climate change on Arctic species are likely to be felt globally
The Climate Is Changing
The Arctic is one of the places where climate change is most rapid and easy to observe. As it is also very sparsely populated, it is easy to think that, similar to the small island states in the Pacific, the Arctic peoples have to pay a big price for developments elsewhere. The difference is, however, that the Arctic nations are also large industrial countries with their share and significant responsibility in the battle against carbon emissions.
