Gracie's Pictorial Basil Pesto with Farfalle


This is the Italian recipe I made in my Creative Cooking class in April of 2013. I chose this recipe because it spring is coming and I wanted to experiment with fresh ingredients for my recipe. The following is the process i used to make fresh basil pesto with farfalle pasta.

Recipe Yield

This recipe makes about four servings of basil pesto pasta.

Special Equipment

Food Processor


  • 2 cups packed fresh basil leaves, plus one teaspoon freshly chopped basil
  • 3 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 1/4 cup pine nuts
  • 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Pecorino cheese
  • 1 large chicken breast, uncooked
  • salt and pepper to taste


Finished product!

Place in large serving bowl, garnish, serve and enjoy
