Gracie's Pictorial Basil Pesto with Farfalle

Ingredients
- 2 cups packed fresh basil leaves, plus one teaspoon freshly chopped basil
- 3 cloves of garlic, chopped
- 1/4 cup pine nuts
- 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
- 1/2 cup freshly grated Pecorino cheese
- 1 large chicken breast, uncooked
- salt and pepper to taste
Method
Gather ingredients
Set up Food Processor
Boil water in large pot
Chop basil
Chop cloves of garlic
Combine basil, garlic, and pine nuts in a food processor until coarsely chopped
Add 1/2 extra virgin olive oil and process until fully incorporated and smooth, season to taste with salt and pepper
Once finished with fresh basil pesto, add farfalle to boiling water and cook for around 11 minutes
While pasta is cooking cut chicken breast into bite sized pieces
Put one tablespoon extra virgin olive oil in medium skillet
Comine teaspoon chopped fresh basil and chicken in skillet. Cook on low until chicken is no longer pink inside
While chicken is cooking, grade the Pecorino cheese
Drain pasta. Add cooked chicken to drained pasta
Add basil pesto to chicken and pasta
Stir pasta with pesto and chicken, add cheese, mix
