Lincoln Bulletin

March is Here! March has come in with wonderful spring-like weather. Students, staff and parents are all enjoying this break from the norm and hope it continues. During recess, many students are taking their coats off, but it still can be a little chilly for short sleeves. We are trying to encourage students to wear their coats or jackets if they are not wearing long sleeves. This weekend we will observe daylight savings time so remember that we will spring forward this weekend, do not forget to change your clocks.

Last week we had a lot of wonderful fun events. Last Thursday evening we hosted our second family math night. Many families joined in the fun and learned about math through math tasks, geometry and fun games. Please check out our Twitter feed to see highlights of the evening. Thank you to Mrs. Smith our math specialist for helping organize this wonderful event and to our teachers for facilitating the activities. Our school is continuing to build a community of readers through our One Book One School reading of Bob, along with many students participating in Ozzie reading in their pursuit of earning a free ticket to the Kane County Cougars game on Friday, May 8.

We have three weeks left until spring break, our kids are doing a great job and continuing to work hard and learn.

WATCH DOGS!

Thank you to all of our WATCH DOGS that have been helping and visiting Friday mornings and for your support during lunch and recess. Our recent watchdog was Mr. Thomas thank you for taking the time to spend time with your daughter and her class today.

Parent feedback wanted

This year, our building was fortunate to receive a grant from Project Lead The Way and the Bemis Corporation to support our Project Lead the Way program in grades K-5. Included as part of the grant reporting process is a parent survey. Please take a moment to complete the survey. Responses are anonymous and information gathered from the survey will help to provide feedback to Project Lead the Way as they plan for the future.

FROM THE NURSE

The Dentist is Coming to Lincoln!

Great News! Lincoln has partnered with Smile Programs...the mobile dentists, to offer in-school dental care right here at Lincoln during the school day.

Even better, dental care is usually at no cost to you. All insurance is accepted including Medicaid and CHIP. For those without insurance, a low-cost self-pay option is available.

Forms were sent home last week. I've got more available in the Lincoln Health Office or sign your child up today at www.MySchoolDentist.com. Permission slips due now.
