Virtual Choir---Round 3
The song is The Road Home by Stephen Paulus, which we were to perform at our Spring Concert. I’m very proud of the performance by our students (though I wish we could have done it live!). The message is timely and the music is beautiful. You can read the text below if you’re interested – it’s some beautiful poetry.

Books to Go PICK UP 6/10 and 6/17 at the High School!
Get ready to pick up a free bag of donated books for your child for summer reading!
WE MADE HUNDREDS OF BAGS for the readers in our community!
Books to Go was created by Sam Gibson, a junior at East Hampton High School, as a way for East Hampton children to be able to read books from the community over the summer. All the books were bagged according to age and type of book and each bag contains 5-10 books.
All you need to do is drive by the High school on June 10th or 17th from 12:00-2:00 pm to pick up a bag or two for your child to enjoy reading this summer. Sam will be there passing out the bags right to your car. Books are available for all readers: babies to young adult readers.
*This was a community sponsored event. Books will be available first come first serve. Keep your child READING East Hampton! THANK YOU for your support!
We are NO longer accepting any more donations.

SAT Updates
Since the juniors were unable to take the SAT in school this past spring as planned, the state and CollegeBoard have agreed to allow the Class of 2021 to take the SAT in school on Wednesday, October 14th free of cost. This will replace the option for students to use a 7 digit fee waiver code for a one time SAT. Since this SAT will take place in school in October, it is the expectation that all seniors be in attendance to take the test. You will automatically be registered for the October SAT, and no action is needed on your part.
In addition to this SAT in October, it is the school counselor’s recommendation that students register for at least one additional SAT as a way to give yourself the most opportunities to earn the best score possible. The first available SAT occurs on August 29th. The deadline to register for this test date is July 31st. If students would like to register for this SAT or any other additional SATs, they should do so through their CollegeBoard accounts.

Senior Class News
We are looking forward to honoring the Class of 2020 on Saturday, June 20 at 8:00AM.
Please pay close attention to a separate Parent Square e-mail that will give directions about the graduation ceremony, distribution of diplomas and parking. This information will be shared throughout the week.
Graduation--June 20, 2020
Due to limitations set by the Governor’s Executive Order, this is a private ceremony for member of the Class of 2020 and families only. All graduates and families are allowed to attend in one vehicle. No other cars or spectators are allowed on the campus at any time during the graduation. Only graduates are allowed out of their car when their name is called to receive their diploma. The Board of Education and the High School are required to follow strict guidelines set by the State of Connecticut, the State Department of Education, and the Department of Public Health. Any spectators not invited or not in cars will cause us to delay or stop the ceremony. Please respect the members of our Senior Class and their immediate family members. Our Seniors deserve to have a ceremony that is not interrupted or delayed. This event will be live-streamed so that all in the community may enjoy:

Attention, seniors! Your EHPS Google accounts will be deleted after graduation. If you want to keep anything currently stored there, Mr. Fielding, our IT director, says the best thing to do is back up your Drive using Google Takeout (https://takeout.google.com/). It is NOT ENOUGH to simply share a doc with your personal account.

News from the Nurses Office
As we finish up our last week of this school year your school nurse’s wanted to touch base one more time.
Remember to get outside, enjoy the lazy days of summer but stay safe. Continue to follow the CDC guidelines to ensure your health and the health of those you come in contact with.
Be creative in getting exercise-walk, run, jump, hula-hoop, skate, ride a scooter, swim. Some of you will get summer challenges from your gym teachers, make sure you keep track of what you do and let them know how you spent your vacation. High schoolers, you can let your gym coaches know how many steps you took over the two+ months you are not in class. They have a map near the locker room to “walk across a state”-see how far you went! Challenge yourself!
Lastly, a few tips for parents as you spend more time together in the weeks ahead.
We look forward to seeing all of you in August!
Meaghan Kitchin, Jillian Crouch, Nick Cordone, Beth Kelpen
and Kari Doucette Health Office Assistant.
