Getting to the Core @ Your Library

Quick Tips and Tools for implementing CCSS

Getting Students "On"line

Common Core standards emphasize using text in lessons. This leads to the question, "How can we make using lengthy reading materials more efficient and keep students on the same page, or better yet, the same line as students reference the text to answer questions or engage in discussion?" One quick and easy way is to number the lines in articles using Word. Watch this 1-minute Reb-inar for a quick lesson on numbering and add this essential skill to your repertoire. Getting "on"line has never been easier.

FYI

Links to all the resources mentioned in Quick Tips can be found at our SCHS Library homepage. The library link is also located on the SCHS homepage. One major goal this year is to make this a more useful website for teachers and students. Make a habit of stopping by to see the latest additions and, by all means, feel free to make suggestions.

***Quick Tips is an informational flyer brought to you periodically by your SCHS librarian. It is intended to bring you useful practical ideas pre-sifted just for SCHS teachers! Let us do some of the sifting, so you can concentrate on the shifting.
