Dear BCS Community,
Dear BCS Families,
Despite some setbacks, the staff and students here at BCS are doing great. The atmosphere here is still positive and filled with learning. For sure, we miss having everyone here, and we look forward to having everyone back soon.

Second step for September
This month, our schoolwide theme is our school as a welcoming place where every student feels like he or she belongs. In our morning announcements and school assembly, we’ll be reminding students to welcome others and act and speak in safe, respectful, and responsible ways. In addition we’ll be reminding students of our school rules: The Bear Necessities, Safe, Respectful, and Responsible.
We’ll also begin teaching the Second Step program, which includes lessons that support these behaviors.
Support your child at home in welcoming others and acting and speaking in safe, respectful, and responsible ways. Please tell your child’s teacher if you have questions about specific ways you can help your child with these behaviors at home.
SPECIAL NOTE
If you become aware of your child having a positive COVID test over the weekend (Friday after 4:00 p.m. to Monday before 7:00 a.m.) please email the principal as soon as you know. Waiting until schools open the following day is too hectic, and the advanced notice allows for a smoother contact tracing process. Also, again, if any student tests positive or shows any symptoms, they must stay home.
Please reach out by email at lfliegelman@ocsu.org or leave a voicemail at extension 102, 754-8467 with any questions. Thank you again for your cooperation and keeping our school community safe.
Sincerely,
Larry Fliegelman
